06 / MY SKILLS
Clear thinking.
Thoughtful leadership.
My skills connect strategy with implementation and evidence with people. I bring them to new sectors and challenges with curiosity, independence, and a high standard for the work.
MY WORKING PHILOSOPHYUnderstand the problem. Challenge the assumptions. Make the work useful.
01Critical thinking & judgement
I make sense of incomplete, unstructured, and sometimes contradictory information. I clarify the decision, test the assumptions, and distinguish what the evidence supports from what remains uncertain.
Evaluation design, evidence synthesis, policy analysis, and constructive challenge.
02Stakeholder engagement
I build trust through preparation, transparency, and deep listening. I am comfortable with senior decision-makers and community members, and attentive to whose perspective is missing.
Interviews, facilitation, executive engagement, and community dialogue.
03Communication that creates clarity
Learning in a second language taught me to question words that obscure meaning. I translate complex issues into clear findings, workable options, and recommendations people can use.
Executive briefings, reports, presentations, and translating research for different audiences.
04Strategy & implementation
I study the wider system, identify what needs to change, and turn an idea into an actionable plan. I build enough process to provide clarity while leaving room for judgement.
Strategic planning, operating models, project delivery, budgets, and risk management.
05Leadership & developing people
I set expectations, invite constructive disagreement, and help colleagues grow through meaningful responsibility. Leadership is about staying engaged, encouraging, and supportive when the work becomes difficult.
Team building, mentorship, quality assurance, and cross-functional coordination.
06Integrity & excellence
I value independent thinking, honest communication about limitations, and careful follow-through. Quality means producing work that is defensible and useful to the people who rely on it.
Evidence standards, transparent methods, review routines, and accountability.
07Research, data & impact
Research is what I do every day: crunching numbers, reading materials, talking to people, finding evidence and counterfactuals. I connect all data sources to understand how systems perform and what changes for people.
Mixed methods, performance frameworks, indicators, financial modelling, and dashboards.
08Learning & experimentation
I enjoy unfamiliar problems and learn by trying, reflecting, and refining. New tools are an opportunity to ask better questions and improve how the work gets done.
Responsible AI, process improvement, rapid prototyping, and adapting across sectors.
